We collect nothing.
By design.

Shield runs entirely on your device. We have no servers that receive your information. This is not a policy choice — it is an architectural one.

Data Collection

What Shield does not collect.

  • Wallet addresses, public keys, or private keys
  • Transaction history or UTXO data
  • Privacy scores or analysis results
  • IP addresses or network identifiers
  • Device fingerprints or hardware identifiers
  • Usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports
  • Names, email addresses, or any personal information

There is no account creation, no login, no registration. Shield requires no email address and no personal details of any kind.

Architecture

How Shield works.

Local Analysis

Shield analyses your wallet by comparing your transaction data against a locally stored database of labelled addresses. The entire analysis runs on your computer. No data leaves your device. No network requests are made to Prometheus servers, because Prometheus has no servers that accept user data.

Verifiable Source Code

Shield's source code is publicly viewable and auditable. Every claim on this page can be verified by reading the code. We believe this is the only meaningful form of privacy policy — one that is auditable by anyone.

Legal

Payments, third parties, and the law.

Payments

Paid tiers are processed via BTCPay Server. BTCPay Server is self-hosted, open-source payment infrastructure. Payments are made in Bitcoin. No third-party payment processor receives your financial information. No KYC (Know Your Customer) process is required.

Website

This website is a static HTML page. It does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, or any form of visitor monitoring. No third-party scripts are loaded beyond Google Fonts for typography.

Google Fonts may log standard web server access data (IP address, browser type, referring URL) as described in Google's privacy policy. If this concerns you, the fonts can be self-hosted in a future update — or you can block the request with your browser.

Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose any data to third parties. We cannot disclose what we do not have.

We cannot disclose what we do not have.

Law Enforcement

If served with a legal request for user data, we would have nothing to provide. Shield's architecture means no user data exists on any system we control. This is by design.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Given our architecture, meaningful changes are unlikely — it is difficult to collect less data than none.
